We’re back with another installment of Pod Excellence for the masses brought to you by the AD Report.
A quick shout out to the former Pod Excellence recipients of past months. The Defeated, the A-League, the Free Lunch Podcast, and the Chicken Social. These podcasts should be in your rotation in addition to the 5th Sense Podcast. A project my friends and I started. Speaking of friends, there’s Richie Foley & Virgil Hawkins, Stephen A & Skip, Will Smith & Tommy Lee Jones, Karl Malone & John Stockton would also be appropriate but that’s selling them short (and it’s insulting). The gentlemen of Tyler & Coley, co-host of Mickstape: The Barstool Basketball Podcast. These two have made some very good content along the way. Here’s a few reasons why you should subscribe and listen to their show. Who: Coley (Celtics supporter) & Tyler (has a leg in all 30 teams). What: This is mainly a basketball podcast where they discuss the latest news, rumors, topics, and jokes involving the game. They bring on an assortment of guests often to the show too. Although the topic of the show is clear, they’ll also dive into other topics and people they feel like discussing for 10-20 minutes. Like Jimmy Buffett. Why: It is an entertaining podcast. It helps me get through some long days when I’m out and feel like I’ll be bored. They provide solid opinions and I appreciate the sarcasm they exhibit as it is a nice touch. They’re more so jokesters than serious people but that’s what gives the show a unique feel. You can also hear them interview some dope people too such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. When: Episodes typically drop twice a week. Where: PodcastOne, iTunes, or Barstool’s website itself. Pleased to see their success. Check them out. Welcome to Pod Excellence.

Welcome everyone to the AD Report! Our Pod Excellence piece of the month is here as I shoutout a podcast and give out recommendations to you, the reader.
We couldn't get to the month of April as we decided to shed more of the spotlight to the AD Report's LP of the Month which featured KayJay Clemente. This time, we'll give the spotlight to a podcast I've been feeling for the past few months. The A League Atlanta Hawks Show is the latest inductee to the Pod Excellence honor here on the AD Report. An interesting group of guys host this who are knowledgeable & entertaining. Check out what I have to say about them below! Who: Eric, David, Akiem, Rashad, & Jeremy. What: These 5 bright young men mainly discuss all things related to the Atlanta Hawks. Opinions, analysis, news, jokes, memories, you name it. They dabble into other areas aside from the Hawks too. They talk about current events going on in their own communities (involving Georgia), touch on some topics related their personal lives, & the latest in pop culture. Why: This podcast is unique. I don't listen to many podcast where 4+ guests are talking among themselves. I'd think it would be a crowded one especially doing it consistently but it works! They feed well off of each other & can be a funny bunch. Some of the shows qualities are what I would want to emulate with a podcast of mine with my friends. Aside from that, I learn a lot about the Hawks from this podcast and that definitely doesn't hurt. The Hawks aren't even my team and I find myself intrigued listening. In other words, I like what they're selling. When: Recently, you can expect 3-5 episodes from them a month. The day can vary. Where: Check them out on, Stitcher, iTunes, & SoundCloud! Welcome to Pod Excellence gentlemen. The AD Report. The LP of the Month. Meets, KayJay Clemente.
For the months of January, February, and March, the AD Report has been giving recommendations on content you should be checking out for the price of free 99. Ronnie Low, Big Shot, and Don Dotta, have been recipients of the LP of the Month honor from the AD Report. Now, we welcome the South Jersey native with his recent project Enter, THRILLPVCK. Who: KayJay Clemente is a rapper/producer who works hard to improve his craft day in and day out. He’s a motivated artist who looks to be a dual threat on the boards and with his pen. KayJay also looks to help his fellow peers and enjoys seeing the success of others around him. It inspires him to keep going. Why: He has a good ear for beats which is expected considering his strength as an artist is producing. KayJay has solid song concepts and ideas. He’s willing to defer to others and allow them to shine alongside him where in return, he flourishes. That’s what happens on THRILLPVCK. He gets other local artist/friends join him on the ride as they all do their thing. The project is 8 tracks under 30 minutes so it’s a short listen also easily digestible. Where: He’s all over SoundCloud. And he's active on Twitter. Favorite Song: Dream Team – Feat. L-Town Slick, Ronnie Low, & Don Dotta Going for the three-peat! Pod Excellence.
For the month of January, the Defeated Podcast held it down for Toronto like prime Vince Carter. For February, the Chicken Social Podcast delivered some deliciousness for your ears. For March? We all know it is about the green, luck, and better days ahead since the spring months are upon us. Speaking of green, your man, my man, CJ as known as Chuck Haze, cooks up something nice for his listeners on the Free Lunch Podcast. And for that, he’s received a free voucher to enter Pod Excellence for the month of March. Who: CJ What: CJ and his assortment of guest from time to time, discuss it all. What’s going on in pop culture, sports, current events, literature, business including trends, tactics, and philosophies, and of course, the grass that’s greener on the other side. Why: I like the podcast for mainly it’s diversity in subject matter. He knows how to get the right people on his show and bring out the best in them when engaging in conversation with them. It flows naturally and everyone has a good time. Aside from that, I appreciate his usual/original format where he separates the topics intro ‘lunches.’ It gives the show a unique wrinkle. When: The guy works hard and is consistent. He tends to drop shows during the end of the week. Typically, Friday. Where: iTunes and SoundCloud. One of the more underrated podcast out. Welcome to Pod Excellence. Winter Heat Wave 2 & ZOELAND. Featured back to back for the AD Report’s ‘LP of the Month’ award. Make sure you check out those projects and the blog post discussing them!
Donny Dotta, calls next. Another southern New Jersey artist makes his way onto the AD Report. This rapper will give you jabs and hooks with his rapping ability and throwback attitude. He was born in March and his debut project, the Full Moon EP, celebrates its one year anniversary. So, it’s fitting that the LP of the Month finds itself in his hands. Who: Donny is energetic and as easy going as they come. He approaches the genre of rap with a throwback mentality and looks to do more with his artistry in the years to come. On the surface, he works hard to bring his work on the pen to real life. Why: The Full Moon EP is a short listen. It introduces you to his style and wordplay creativity. Rap itself has several lanes one can go on these days. If your preference is gritty with hard delivery, then this project is for you. His voice is the key here however. Many think he has a commanding voice that can help propel him into stardom one day. The EP is solid listen all the way through. Where: SoundCloud is the place. Follow him on Twitter as well. Favorite Song: Up on This |
